The Building Enclosure Council of Greater Detroit (BEC-GD), a subcommittee of The
American Institute of Architects of Detroit (AIAD), has established for the first time, a BEC-
GD scholarship for students. The BEC is dedicated to the advancement of the building
enclosure to foster effective performance of building exterior. The BEC-GD will award one
$1,500 scholarship for the 2015-2016 school year to a student who is currently enrolled in
an architectural or building engineering science curriculum. It is the goal of the BEC-GD to
grow the award amount, quantity of awards, or both, and the number of schools
participating in the scholarship program.
We are respectfully requesting your assistance in this endeavor. Enclosed are the
Scholarship Requirements and Application for your information and use. Please inform and
distribute these two documents to sophomores, juniors and seniors students. Questions
